Budget Gavel Jockeying already is under way among lawmakers from both parties to lead the Senate Budget Committee in the next Congress. Sen. Bernie Sanders could end up as the next chairman if Sen. Patty Murray switches to chair another committee, according to CQ Roll Call.  “As chairman of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Sanders has demonstrated his ability to work with party leaders. He helped shape and move legislation to address problems in the VA health care system through Congress last month.”
